The Stefaneschi Triptych (c. 1330)

NEW for this Halloween season (with the caveat that this is still very much a work in progress), a fun-filled collaborative photo/design/ART project between myself and a very talented best friend and sidekick from the world of theater, film, costume, and set design.

The process had me stepping, or rather, leaping way outside my comfort zone—braving the forces of darkness and meeting up with a coven of witches in the dusky Alabama woods (who all turned out to be perfectly innocent theater/film majors rather than proper witches but oh well), then heading into the studio to wrangle lighting and shoot some nudes, and finally doing way more photoshop and graphic design than I typically allow myself to do.

The result is hopefully a little unsettling and more than a little intriguing, and explores the dark world of occult magick and mythology while compiling and conceptualizing the imagery by drawing inspiration from medieval triptychs and illuminated manuscripts with historiated initials.
